Well I actually stopped watching him after the Povetkin fight. It was one of the worst display of boxing I've ever seen at the heavyweight title level.

    Boxer/Punchers?

A lot of my favorite fighters could bang and box. Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Aaron Pryor, Julio Cesar Chavez, Azumah Nelson, Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao, and current top fighters like Canelo Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin, and Sergey Kovalev.

David Haye, Povetkin, Wach etc. there are a number of them especially in recent times due to his ultra cautious punch and grab style.

I actually enjoyed the Haye fight. Rare exception.

    Benn?
I always felt he was a straight out banger.

I was going with Eubank , but he had flaws in foot work and other areas so i went with Benn. Maybe i should have went with G-man.

There was nothing at all technical about Ray Mancini.

He was..though a passionate straight out banger. Not technical at all.

Dulio Loi was akin to a technical brawler.

Sure there was. Watch the Ramirez fight, and the way he smothers him, the perfect fight plan to beat the Mexican. Just because he took punches doesn't mean he had no technique.

Another one is Carmen Basilio. Watch him break down Johnny Saxton in their second fight.

You make a great point in that its easy to overlook the technique and strategy of certain face-first, aggressive brawlers. That being said, it still feels like a stretch to call it "using technical skill and using smart fighting tactics"

Disagree. "Using smart fighting tactics" is precisely how he beat Ramirez. Trying to back off and box and trade at range would not have been smart. His tactics were perfect for that fight.
