The thing is that Katsidis's punches were harder and they may have seemed more effective at ringside and flush compared to Diaz's amateur style...

I could of seen 115-113 Katsidis, depending on how you judge a fight.

Though I did have Diaz winning 115-113, with 116-112 being completely plausible for Diaz too.

At least Katsidis was hitting something, usually judges just score arms moving.

 

I wish I could see what Larry Merchant's reaction would have been, although Kellerman laid it out there.

 

Its probably like this. Diaz dominated so bad in the beginning of the fight that when he stepped it down a notch they figured Katsidis was winning the round. In reality Diaz stepped it down but still clearly won the rounds.

I remember this guy was getting torn apart years ago in the Mayweather - Judah fight for only giving Judah one round. I think he gave Judah only the last round of the fight.

I scored it 117-111 Diaz watching it at my local pub, Katsidis put up a good fight but was outclassed and outlanded in most of the rounds. I was actually sitting next to about 20 members of Katsidis' family (and some of his friends), after the decision his Sister in law got pissed and kicked over a table with peoples drinks on it. This ***** went totally spaz, they ended up kicking her out. The rest of the family were fine with decision and were proud of him for putting up a good fight. It was an entertaining afternoon.

 

Yeah the decision was bull**** IMO. The most Katz won there was probably 3 rounds. Thats it. Juan dominated the fight. I'm gonna watch the fight again and properly score it.

 

He did, but I'm not seeing the blowout some people have referred to. Maybe that's just because I have such high standards for Diaz. Katsidis stayed on equal terms with him for a disturbing amount of the time. Out of the stars in the division Katsidis is supposed to be one of the worst tactical boxers, and Diaz is supposed to be one of the best. It sure as **** didn't look that way. It looked like Diaz was only slightly superior, the flashy combos only get laymen fans excited. The reality is Katsidis was timing Diaz and touching him way more than "he should have."
