Thought Burns done boss tonight, that ref was a danger to Burns. Grabbing his arm all the time. And his general ****house decisions during the fight. atsch Poor ref
Fcuking disgrace. Ricky still a winner by a point or two even with the deductions. Disgusting robbery, Fig didn't nothing but bull his way in head first ( illegally ) and landed virtually nothing clean, meanwhile Ricky is picking him off from outside and lifting his head up with uppercuts, yet he gets jobbed by the ref and judges. I hope Ricky doesn't lose heart, that was the old Ricky in there.
It was bad without a doubt, should have been breaking them and the grabbing of the gloves just outragous. Lets make no mistake when Figueroa starts travelling and stepping up in class he will be found out quickly.
That was farcical, you expect home decisions but that was daylight robbery, constantly standing and watching doing nothing as Figueroa tied Burns' arms up in every round. If he broke them up, even half of the amount of times he should of, then Burns would of won that by a distance
I think its still worth saying Ricky didnt do himself any favours. Any time there was a bit of space between them he showed himself as the better boxer in there by some distance. Obviously its hard when a guy is running at you and smothering you, but he had to do more to create some space, if that meant running a bit then so be it, run and hit him when he's coming in. Scorecards were a disgrace though, if that fight had taken place anywhere but the guys home town with his own ref and judges your looking at cards showing a draw or a very close decision one way or the other.
Did that Ref not have the word break in his vocabulary?? Figueroa is uglier to watch than Shawn Porter!! Burns can hold his head up IMO!!
Wow didn't watch the fight but on the main page on this site there's a article up saying burns was holding all night and he spoilt the fight, guess I'm gonna have to watch it
Was the worst ref i have seen in boxing for a long time, would not call break but would grab hold of the fighters arms.shocking.. ricky did well tonight but if iam honest still think he lost. If he could of created space by moving off sideways instead of straight back he would of won using his jab but omar was on top of him all the time.glad to see ricky go all the way though top bloke and he has more left in the tank
