I wish to "God" that the powers that be would bring back the 15 round championship fight.

We would then see the Super Blubberweights go the way of the Dinosaur...

    Agreed.

It would take a lot of the just surviving element out of the game too.

I feel more strongly about weigh in procedures actually. I do prefer 15 though.

But count me among those who are skeptical that the changes really came because of the official reason of safety

These guys can barely do 10 rounds, now you want to increase it by 50% :rofl:rofl

Looking at the mental and physical health of a lot of the 15-round greats makes me think this is not such a good idea.

Sure, let's increase the chances of brain injuries and deaths.

It's good and bad. For the fights really heating up late with one guy coming on and the other fighter fading it could be great.. But with two overly cautious fighters, it would be much too long to sit through. Or with guys trying to reserve some energy for the late rounds could make guys put less of themselves earlier in the fight...

I don't think they've ever showed any definitive proof saying that 15 rounders cause any more damage than 12.. Or even same day weighins being more dangerous than day before weigh ins.. But hey when bad things happen in brutal sports someones gotta pay, and that has been their "answers"

In a lot of the old 15 rounders, fighters would take a few rounds off & just cruise.

After Mosely & Haye, do we really to to ENCOURAGE more of that?

In terms of safety its very clear 15 rounds would enable more deaths and brain damage.Because You would sustain more punches.Common sense. No test needed.

Now this is a brutal sport and injury is apart of it and the fighters have to live with the consequence. So we need to acknowledge both aspect and the 12 round rule seems fair.
