I think a coach saw him fight as a youngster and said "You'd have to get a badger to fight him off" and the name stuck.

Maybe he keeps stealing food out of peoples bins? lol doubt it though.

He impressed me last night. Dead cool before the fight just got in there and did the business. Billys got a cracking stable there he looked dead heavy handed on the pads- I was more suprised by the fact it was his first stoppage. Same with Ricky, John Simpson etc they all have lowish KO % but they can all punch well.

Who said that was a dive?

Massive punch. Impressive bill that last night.

Jeff - what was the deal with that lad who was on first? Daniel Randell? Debut - but had about 300 people there?!!

The left hand before the right hook was the shot that did the damage

    It was lovely.

Nothing better than a str8 right left hook when orthodox, to see a mirror of it when southpaw was well.......ubercool......head**** for an opponent i would think.

No idea didn't see his fight but he trains with Murray, seems a nice kid. Kerry Kayes swapped his T shirt so that it said Randy Randall instead of Danny Randall which was very funny especially at the conclusion when he was showing it off to the cameras without realising. I thought it was a terrible bill to be honest and the venue was a **** hole.

atrocious card, but it just depends on your expections, mine are very very low for a Henny bill and i'm just happy to see some boxing tbh.

Was nice to see the forums very own Jeff Thomas and Billy Nelson getting some TV exposure :D

Was impressed by Hughes, liked the look of him the last time I saw him on TV too (think it was against James Ancliff?)

That was a good victory for Hughes. Despite Dai Davies' record, he's a very decent boxer. I was at his last fight against Rob Turley, and Dai boxed brilliantly that night (went in as the underdog and pulled off a UD upset victory), I was really impressed with him and his performance.
I thought he was going to give Hughes a real stiff challenge, and not having seen Hughes box before, thought it was possible Davies could pull off an upset if underestimated. Much credit to Hughes (and top corner team!) though, he did the business. Dai Davies is a lot better than what he appeared to be, so to do that to him is a very good result.
