Just seen the fight properly for the first time today. Watched it sunday morning live but cant really say properly due to the fatc i was totally gassed. Outside all the hurrah it was actually quite a competetive fight more so that people are making out imo. Pacman gave it his best...its just that floyd always would have been a nitemare for him as he is for most. I think what it really came down to was mayweather is just the naturally bigger man. Was always gonna be difficult to make up the size plus skill level.

Floyd easily got off with the cleaner work he always would have. But for me although mannys work was no way near as clean he was still doing work in there. He might have been hitting arms and elbows but it should still be recognised. As great as mayweather is and he did win the fight and probably would have won the fight at any point in time. The guy trying to make the fight should be rewarded for it. I enjoy watching mayweather fight but essentially the counter punching style needs to stop being credited as much as it gets. Obviously a scoring blow its much better than one that hits elbows. But if a fighter hits elbows 2 or 3 times it should imo be recognised just as much as the scoring shot. Mayweathers just frustrates the same way hopkins does. Not quite as bad tho.

Regardless of the talk of the injury mayweather would have won either way...dont think it would have made too much difference tbh. I think the real fight of the century would have been the younger smaller versions of the two of them. Pacman was a more feroucious fighter back then plus mayweather could bring it himself. They ve actually both lost something moving upwards. But floyds bulked up better. He looked solid in there.

Both tremendous fighters when its all said. Mayweather the better overall as he proved. Although pacman even with his defeats probably has the better resume for me overall. Mayweather deserves credit for his no defeats and for me regardless of what people say he's beat some massive names along the way...comfortably a lot of the time as well. Even the castillo draw/defeat if we're being honest was more down to the shoulder injury more than anything else and castillo was a great fighter. But mayweather put all doubt aside in the rematch.

    Few things about the fight

regarding the shoulder injury...how it stopped manny going forward when he seemed to have mayweather on the ropes. He backed off a few times. That was part of the gameplan and not the injury. Roach had mentioned not falling into mayweathers traps. That was one of them lull you in then get off himself.

Freddy roach needs help...hes deteriorating badly. He can still come up with a game plan etc maybe still do the pads or that but he needs proper help in the corner and not buboy. The fight bypassed freddy i dont think he bottled it or was found wanting but the illness has slowed him down.

Floyd mayweather senior shouldnt be near a corner. He ll get someone hurt. Luckily juniors good enough to get away with it but roger is by far the better corner. Floyd senior causes panic if he was listened to.

British commentators/carl froch really doing a bad job of commentating imo. They re getting carried away with some of the work in these fights. To the point it's affecting peoples perception of fights. Any guy new to the sport would have thought it was utter domination. It wasnt.

Floyd mayweather can punch. How many opponents does he have to make hesitant to throw their shots till some people realise it.
Them two at their best weights would have been a terrific fight to watch that would have been worth the hype.

Can the punch stats be taking seriously? I ve never actually counted them out. But seen a few fights that i ve been like my mind must be playing tricks on me here. Maybe not so much in this fight but did anyone feel pac man threw more. I think the stats had mayweather throwing more. Maybe he did. He definetely landed more cleanly. But are shots to the arms etc counted. Its can be misleading imo.

As much as it looks like i favour pacman. Going into the fight i like both of them. Probably pacman a little more but not much tbh. Hatton was the last boxer i remember taht made me talk absolute rubbish. He would have won with a different ref.....lol.
