Does anyone know if there has been any change on the Contender coming back for a new season? Maybe with Mora actually winning a legitimate title there may be more reason now to bring it back.
Last i heard they were gonna do a heayweight season buh i think they flopped. they should pick decent fighters to compete if they do the next season, not fighters with a loosing record like Grady brewer lol. The first season was successful but it went down hill from there.
They had MUCH better fighters in the third season, and I imagine they could get even better fighters if they come back for a fourth. The promoters aren't dumb. They see that getting their kid the face time means they get more big money shots. The season 3 folks are taking it easy for the meantime (other than Soliman, who's a freak anyway and had one more opportunity for a title shot and big payday), but several of them will be getting decent money fights soon, better than they were getting before. I remember reading that there were two issues holding back another season. First, they got dropped by ESPN, so they need to find another network. I imagine they want to go to Spike or Versus, but Spike would probably just use them as leverage to get a better deal out of UFC. Second, I heard they're having some internal promotional issues. In any case, I wouldn't be surprised if it goes either way.
They should try & get different stables to compete & put thier best boxers in some sort of competition. Might be an interesting idea.
