It was as good as signed. Whether his name was actually on the legal contract or not, it had been announced to the world and Haye was taking plaudits for fighting the "tougher Klitschko" already, the date and area were being announced to the press. Then all on a sudden it's off. Regardless of the legalities, surely you can see how it damages his credibility?

As am I, and in my dilapidated ex mining town we've got plenty of problems of our own, so I'm not taking up the cause of millionaire black (actually half white, but who's counting) athletes for them this week.

Have you checked out Axe man (who posted like he's black) or Swann (who's either asian or a bored white kid pretending to be asian) and their million anti Wlad (who's white) threads? Maybe it's an underlying race thing there too?

Yes he insulted the Klits and yes a lot of people are more pissed that he signed against another BELT HOLDER . . . well that's because his actions are illogical.

People are not pissed because he's earning more . . . people are not pissed because he wants to get more experience . . . people are pissed because he didn't man up to prove what came out of his mouth. People are pissed because he IS lieing to cover up his stupidity.

He really doesn't deserve a shot at the Klits at this point. But he worked his way into it by way of open published insults and that's why negotiations were made. After signing the contract . . . this stupid **** made excuses and say he wants to earn more money? He wants to get more experience? Does he think people are that stupid? Why did he sign the contract?????

Everything started from his big mouth and it ended with him exposing himself as a man without balls to walk the talk.

    Now I'm asking you . . . what's wrong with you?

wow you must be absolutely blind, wlad gets trash talked on this site more than any other fighter in the world, this is just another weak attempt from a feeble minded person to play the race card what a joke, if anything there is reverse discrimination going on here against the klits all they do is win, yet for some reason thats not good enough, if they were from the US everyone would be raving about them.

He should have not have run his big mouth so much then ran from both brothers...thats why people dislike him right now. He opened up his big trap, the Klits didn't run after him. Casse Closed.

Wasn't it Vitali who announced the fight before it was signed?

yeah, see that's the issue. Haye hadn't done **** to deserve a title shot at HEAVYWEIGHT other than talk ****, then he gets the fights, and they get cancelled or not made. Of course people are gonna be critical of this.

Haye talked a lot of **** only to punk out at the end. That's what people are upset about.
Me? I could care less he is doing the smart thing i guess, But all the trash talk for what, to stick your foot in your mouth later? That's the issue. Haye created all this hype for nothing.

He didn't sign though, against Vitali anyway. It was supposedly agreed to orally, and they could never work out the finer details. With Wlad, that's another question. If his back wasn't really hurt, then I guess that happened.

To have a double standard, you need 2 comparable situations... find me another fighter unranked at a weight that calls out and publically humiliates the consensus #1 at that weight, then cancels on the fight only to publically state he'd welcome a fight with consensus #2, whom he also publically humiliated, only to sign a different fight... find that situation where the guy doesn't get flack, then talk about a double standard.

I have no problem with Haye's move. Makes perfect sense. But if you're going to talk/act as he does and not back it up, you'll get stick.

Plenty of people trash Wlad for being boring. Although, I agree that it is ****ing ridiculous when you see Wladimir Klitschko's fanboys praise his style since he hooked up with Steward and his recent winning streak while shitting all over everything Lewis accomplished at his peak.

I can't speak for others but I don't care what Haye does. I'm actually intrigued by his fight with Valuev. Take the business aspect out of it for a second and it's clear to see that Haye was writing checks with his mouth that he wasn't prepared to cash. Pardon the cliche by the way. Haye had a good career at cruiserweight but like I have said again and again, Mormeck was a spent force courtesy of the Bell fights and Maccarinelli was a guy who got his title because Johnny Nelson had to retire with an injury. Maccarinelli was never anything special. Just a guy who can hit hard and can't take a hit. Haye didn't ruin him, he caught him early and took him out. That wasn't some sustained beating that leaves a fighter damaged goods. That was not Calzaghe/Lacy, just a fight in which the better fighter won without wasting time.

So not exactly a sparkling cruiserweight career when closely scrutinized but enough in the minds of some to call out Wladimir Klitschko. David obviously thought so. Remember that it was Haye who went after Wladimir and not the other way around. It was Haye who spoke on boxing's behalf saying that he was going to do the sport a favor and rid it of its "boring, robotic heavyweight champs." It was Haye who pulled out of the Wladimir fight and it was Haye who turned down an available Vitali Klitschko. How bad can the contracts be? You're going to get your wish of facing both fighters and you're going to become a multi-millionaire in the process. I don't put it past the Klitschkos to write what would amount to being a horrible contract but they are the champions. David Haye needed them more than they needed him. For a guy who has slammed the Klitschko brothers time and time again and has shown the utmost confidence in his ability to beat them both, he certainly has avoided the opportunities to try and do so. I'm all about fighters making smart business moves but c'mon, Haye chose Valuev cuz he's beatable and fighting Vitali before Wlad would derail everything as he himself knows that his chances are slim. You think fighters don't know how they match up with other fighters? Haye made a smart business move to fight Valuev but it's hard to isolate it as being one when you take into account all the talking he's done over the past year and a half.
