Who had the most powerful left?

I nominate Gerry Cooney. Can you name a more powerful left hooker?

Tua is a good call, also you can throw Ruddock, Morrison and Tyson in the mix.

Cooney moved Big George with that hook.
    Tyson
    Morrison
    Tua
    Foreman!
Liston had a hard hook as well.
    Hardest Cooney/Tyson

This p4p or just heavies? Not a huge oscar fan but he had a damn good left. Foster could also crank one out that was pretty lethal.

    Dempsey
    Cooney
    Frazier
    Tyson
    Tua
    Morrison
Not in that order but those are some of the best left hooks in HW history..Cooney's was the best to the body but would have liked to see him destroy some prime competition with it.

If Frazier hit as hard as Cooney he'd of been unstoppable.

I see it like this... Frazier had the best left hook, of that I've no doubt. But I think Cooney had the hardest.

    Evander Holyfield

with his left hook he dropped Tyson, Mercer, Bowe and had Foreman in lala land in round 2 or 3.

Joe tended to throw his hook a bit wide. The best hook would be one that's short and thrown correctly within the plane of the shoulders. Louis or Dempsey are prime examples.

Ruddock is up there, although his was a hybrid of an uppercut and hook..A lot of tough Guys WHO has shared the ring with Cooney or sparred him talks highly of his powerlefthook.............

Anyone ever hear of Pipino Cuevas, Felix Trinidad, Sam Langford or Charley White?
