    Nat Fleisure called him over and told him Liston was counted out. Joe was going to let it go on, but once he was told Liston was on the ground for a 10 count, he stopped the fight.

    So why did he get knocked down by the jab in the first round by cotto and not by the bombs later in the fight?

    Sure he's not Chuvalo, but I believe my point still stands.

    just watched it on youtube and I don't see the debate. he lunged in with a jab and got countered with a right hand over the top

    He may have had underrated power. But, he has, I believe, only one other first round knockout. I just find it hard to imagine. The shot didn't look like it had anything on it. It's true that Sonny lunged in to an extent, but he was basically hit with an arm punch by a retreating Ali.

    I don't remember Clottey being TKO'ed after he was knocked down. :scaredas:

    I know what happened, that's precisely what I meant by him making a balls of the whole thing. It should have continued, there should have been no count until Ali was in a neutral corner. Walcott should have told Fleischer to **** off

    I agree; I think it looked imposed. He got up and fell down again in a very contrived way.
