I do not remember ever a case where a champion gives up his title for the sake of moving down a division. Only to **** up negotiations and the chance to fight for the said title, due to egotistic bumblings typical of his Arab Manager. So, the pioneer gives up the M/W Crown, only to lose any chance at the jM/W Crown and inturn fights for a lame arsed International belt at M/W. Pure genius I tell ya. Throw away two titles for the sake of an international belt. A Pioneering effort that should not be repeated.
Funny how Mundine snr has a few k.o losses on his resume,yet is held in very high regard in Aust,because he was a blood n guts fighter,in this case the apple did fall far from the tree.
Mundine Snr had the balls to fight the best. Unlike his son, he has fought some true legends of the ring including the guy who many people rate the best ever middleweight in Carlos Monzon.
