That's a ridiculous concept. Can nobody call themselves WW champion until they beat Floyd. The division doesn't stand still when a fighter vacates a title. The only person to blame for Fury losing his titles is Tyson Fury. Champions defend their titles. Fury made zero defences!!!!

He retired, he got busted for drugs, he was unable to box due to mental issues and has been out of the ring for 2½ years and counting. A person who’s had one title fight his entire life and made 0 title defences, got done for PEDS, then was doing cocaine etc. That’s not the real champ. The real champ is the man who’s been mopping up the division one by one.
It's ridiculous because arguably he beat Wladimir whilst on the gear. In a fair world, the fight would be declared as a no contest.
What makes Warren comments more funny is that his fighter 'Terry Flanagan' won his world title because it become vacant. His next fight is again for a vacant title. Will Warren now come out and say that Flanagan is not a "Real World Champion"
Warren is no fool, he knows he’s talking absolute rubbish but as others have said that’s the only promotional tool they have so let them go with it. The public will decide soon enough if they believe what’s being said when Fury is slapping around bums in a half empty arena.
