This has probably already been discussed, but- Is ANYONE, even the British Haye fanatics, buying into that utter BS? Is Haye so delusional that he actually thinks anyone would believe his BS excuse? (Does he not realize we all have video replay, and can see that his feet were fine in the first 3-4 rounds?) Does he also not realize that, if it HAD been true, he would have been shitting all over his fans, many of whom bet large amounts of their hard-earned British pounds on the fight because they assumed he was in prime condition? (as he claimed in the pre-fight press conference.) What a complete, total douche.
These are world class athletes, their nutrition is top, I don't buy that ****, a ****en malnourished 40 year old can dance around in the ring with boxing shoes and won't break his ****en toe, I don't buy for a minute that this very healthy looking world class athlete broke his ****en toe taking backwards steps....
For me it doesn't even matter as Haye was thoroughly owned in this fight, and him having a good toe would not change that. What was pathetic was him standing there like a little girl with tears in her eyes ready with his shoe taken off for the cameras to take a picture and an excuse on standby RIGHT after the right. That was just plain pathetic and sad. Sad is a good word for it.:verysad
Maybe Haye let his own little toe injury affect his own mental preperation. It shouldnt be an excuse for losing the fight by such a wide margin. The only defence i have for it is Hayes tactics, he never went out to win the rounds and win the fight on points, his tactic was to knock Vlad out and he claims the toe stopped him generating the power from it. So the scorecards mean nothing, he accepted hed lose round after round waiting for his oppertunities to arise. Not that im buying that.
Haye could have negated alot of the trash talk before the fight by admiting he was beaten by the better man, and congratulating Wlad on his victory. Instead he chooses to make bull**** excuses. At the end of the day he could have had an extra arm and a leg, and he would have still got soundly beat.
I broke my toe, and I don't think I'd have been skipping around a ring like Haye was, so either it happened later during the fight, or it happened as he said and Haye just toughed it out and tried to work around the problem as the pain worsened during the fight, ultimately in vain. I tend to favour the latter theory - he hasn't come across as a wimp in any of his previous fights, and I can't see this one being the fight to suddenly change all that. People who just dislike him due to his ego need to consider their motives. I don't think he comes across as especially likeable, funny at times but not likeable, but I can see past my personal dislike of who he is without it affecting my eyesight, unlike some posters here, it seems.
