So yesterday I made a thread yesterday about the P4P top 10 during which I divided up those that can be considered into a few pots. I got up to about 60 names after Pot 5 so it made me think about doing a top 100. Whiles theres no real boxing in for a few weeks its a good way to keep debate flowing on the forum. Below I have posted 7 pots of fighters. I don't think a fighter in pot 5 can be ranked above pot 4 for example. once we get everyone in the right pot we can start debating who goes where before we have a definatove top 100!!! I counted 103 fighters btw. Pot 1 Manny Pacquiao Pot 2 Sergio Martinez Wladamir Klitscko Juan Manuel Marquez Nonito Donaire Bernard Hopkins Pot 3 Vitali Klitscko Andre Ward Carl Froch Miguel Cotto Victor Ortiz Tim Bradley Amir Khan Brandon Rios Roberto Guererro Yuriorkis Gamboa Chris John Pongsaklek Wongjongkam Giovanni Segura Pot 4 David Haye Steve Cunningham Jean Pascal Chad Dawson Mikkel Kessler Lucian Bute Marcos Maidana Humberto Soto Oralando Salido Juan Manuel Lopez Toshiaki Nishioka Joseph Agbeko Anselmo Moreno Abder Mares Hugo Cazares Christian Mijares Roman Gonzalez Nshionki Joyi Pool 5 Tomasz Adameck Marco Huck Dennis Lebedev Tarvois Cloud Glen Johnson Daniel Geale Felix Sturm Sergio Dzinziruk Saul Alvarez Paul Williams Erislandy Lara Shane Mosley Andre Berto Devon Alexander Lucas Mathysse Zab Judah Miguel Vasquez Michael Katsidis Jorge Linares Takiashi Uchyama Jorge Arce Vic Darchinyan Omar Navarez Brian Viloria Usiles Solis Hernan Marquez Ivan Calderon Kazuto Ioda Pot 6 Alexander Povetkin Zolt Erdei Robert Steilgritz Arthur Abraham Antonio Margorito Lamont Peterson Erik Morales Miguel Acosta Mzonke Fana Adrian Broner Ello Rojas Jhonny Gonzalez Daniel Ponce De Leon Koki Kameda Roman Gonzalez Raul Garcia Pot 7 Yoan Pablo Hernandez Gabriel Camppillo Beibut Shumenov Nathan Cleverly Robert Steilgritz Matthew Macklin Gennaday Golovkin Dmitry Pirog Carlos Molina Urbano Antillion Takahiro Ao Ricky Burns Miguel Angel Garcia Rico Ramos Wilfredo Vasquez Jnr Guillermo Rigondeaux Julio Cesar Miranda Luis Conception Luis Alberto Lazarate
I can't really argue with them, they seem accurate and it's a good list. God knows how long it took you though! Only one big change I feel is Juanma. Considering he was in most peoples top 10 before the Salido fight and has some good wins on his record, I think him being in pot 5 is a bit harsh. I think he has definitely done enough to merit being above the likes of Berto & Geale. Otherwise fine, although you have Raul Garcia in both pots 5 & 7.
Its funny reading the list of fighters how many I've only seen fight once or twice and a few not at all!
Whats the obsession with P4P lists?? Its a bit Ricky Hatton at best and more than a bit Rainman at worst
If Ricky was involved we'd have to force a mandatory between Pac and Martinez for the P4P world title.
It'd be interesting to see what comes of it, but on the whole apart from a bit of fun, these lists are nothing but an exercise in futility.
