Mike Tyson in his early days was a true technician.

There really hasn't been many, certainly not in the stratosphere. Joe Louis might come closest for me, but i don't think he was completely rounded if we look beyond his defense.Probably as good as it gets tho. Holmes dropped his left a bit, got loopy with his right, shelved his left hook and seldom attacked the body. Still up there tho due to lack of them, Sonny Liston would run Holmes close silly as it seems.

Tyson was very good technically, considering his style, he comes forward, so what would technically be the right way to do that? Tyson's guard and defence were very sound, his head movement great, footwork was great, how he maneuvred himself into attacking positions, and his hooks and uppercuts were spot on for his stature and build.

Tunney had his hands down and smash hooks in froma low setting, not too good in a technical sense, though very clever and effective, though his footwork and jab from distance followed up with the right were good in a technical sense.
