The Unbeatable Paul Williams ??

Now I really admire the guy for doing what he has been doing... being able to fight from 147-160 is fantastic and he is a fantastic athlete.

I have seen threads lately saying "Williams beats everyone 154 down" "Who beats Williams" "Can Williams beat Pavlik" etc....

But have people forgotton the first Quintana fight just last year..... Where he was well beaten by a man who had so many physical disadvantages it looked silly

I genuinly wish him every sucsess in the future.... but do you guys really think he is unbeatable.

it's very naaive to think williams is unbeatable but it's pretty common immediately after a fight for people to go overboard.

after saying that, there aren't many fighters we wouldn't like to fight him.

 

In fairness, he said he just had a bad night against Quintana, and seeing as he smashed him in one round in the rematch, I tend to believe him. Also, he deserves a lot more credit than he got for beating margarito, and at 147 I don't think there is anyone out there to beat him.

But he's clearly not unbeatable.

but saying he had a "bad night" - and having one again - can change a fighter's career pretty fast.

i'm really hoping someone like cotto or mosley will have a crack at him because williams deserves to be a mainstream fighter, and i'm not convinced that beating winky well will do that.

Nah, you see the Gods work it out with a special formula. Your nut-hugging rating here on ESB tells you whether it was a bad night or not. For example:

Cotto - nut-hugging density = 100, therefore when he loses it was a bad night and his opponent was wearing knuckle-dusters

Pavlik - nut-hugging density = 0, therefore when he loses it was because he's pure ****, and should go back to fighting in gypsy bare-knuckle events in youngstown's redneck circles

Williams - nut-hugging density lately = 80, therefore when he lost to Quintana it was just a bad night

 

Personally, I think Quintana could beat him in a third fight.

Quintana is an extremely underrated fighter.
