good call on ottke. he isnt as good as his undefeated record says. and it helped that he had everything his own way. whole style was based on not letting the other guy do anything of note making him the winner of the round.

buster drayton, sanderline williams, darchinyan, julio cesar vasquez, hopkins and winky.

Geez, some Ottke love is out there, huh? Nice to see. I like the guy. Always did and actually looked forward to his fights.

Who else held their hands up for 12 rounds that high as well as this guy?

And lets just subtract punching power from guys and just what do you have left? What bag of tricks are they going to use to win fights? And remain undefeated? Or, manage to win against top 10 competition.

Some people don't like some of those Ottke decisions, but it wasn't as if he was knocked down 2 or 3 times and won on the scorecards anyway. He was always competitive and nobody ever had an easy time with the guy. Close fights. And since so many people buy into punching power, since this guy had the absolute minimum, just why didn't anybody steamroll the guy? Since he has no punch to keep the other guy off, so just why didn't numerous opponents walk through him for the easy ko?

    Good call.

I love that Mickey Duff quote about the guy where he says he would never fight him.
