Geoff Neal was a slight favorite vs Stephen Thompson . Really ? Thompson ended up sweeping Neal 50-45 with his usual precision striking and effective footwork . Neal was very one dimensional , a few times he pinned Thompson against the cage but never had Thompson in trouble . An accidental clash of heads in the first round had both fighters bleeding but the cuts were not a factor in the outcome . Neal has power for sure but his style is limited . Against a top fighter in Thompson it showed . Thompson is still an elite fighter at 37 .
