I notice there is a big passionate NZ and Oceanic community on here which I love. Was wondering some thoughts on Jerome Pampellone? I notice he is ranked 8th on Boxrec LHW rankings. 18-0, with a fair amateur career. He has looked impressive in all his fights although he hasn't beat anyone great of note. How highly do you guys rate him?
He's okay. For a Kiwi. Needs to fight the two best Australian Light Heavies (Conor Wallace & Paulo Aokuso) to prove he's the best from this part of the world. Or the two best Australian Light Heavies need to fight each other & he needs to fight the winner. If he's good enough to beat the best Australian Light Heavy, he's ready for Beterbiev.
He’s great at domestic level but needs to push on and fight a top 10/20 fighter so we can see where he’s really at. Quick hands, good movement and solid defence from what I’ve seen thus far
He is a decent “sum of all parts” kind of fighter. I really liked the look of him in his later amateur days on the world scene and I said to myself I would keep an eye on him as pro. No attribute really sticks out but most things he does well. His progression has stagnated a bit. He fights often but not really improving his level of opp.
