be careful thats all i got to say, i had a small injury to my thumb from hitting an elbow when throwing a left hook to the body, i never let it heal properly and trained on and 3 fights later i broke it very badly when a left hook connected badly against the guys head, it popped out of place too, 2 surgery's and 8 weeks later im still out of work and wont be able to punch anything for another 10 weeks

go to the hospital get an xray you might have hairline fracture and if you do they will put a splint on your thumb for a month, trust me its better than breaking it and then not being able to fight for another 6 months or more

Maybe you need better gloves. Try Reyes gloves. They got locked thumb for stability/eye protection.

If your throwing your hooks palm down this happens fairly easily, try switching to palms facing you.
