g man has to be favourite but tito has a hell of chance because of gmans lack of defense the only thing that certain is that this is going to be a war
Tito does not have any realistic chance because Julian Jackson (twice) and John Mugabi whom are considered bigger hitters than Tito were stopped by McClellan instead of anything else. Tito does not belong in the HOF and was merely one of many fighters who were big for their weight class and in addition had to rely on a criminal cheat like the hardened handwraps he had. Once he was deprived of his illegal advantage he was stopped by another overrated cheater (Hopkins) and then lost a decision to Ronald Wright. I'd argue that he may have very well gotten stopped by Ricardo Mayorga too , had Mayorga not exposed his chin to him and let him hit him for free and if he had his handwraps checked before that fight too , and if Mayorga was there to win instead of coming there just to secure himself another big payday. Tito also has a draw (some even claim a loss) over Oscar Delahoya that is considered a win.
Tito has the power, but not really the chin to win a shootout. What is interesting, is both fighters generate alot of their bombing force from the front foot, which is in fact poor technique. Very rarely does a fighter learn to do this well(Its as much natural as learned), and even rarer still do you get two front-foot heavy punchers in the ring who are both orthodox(Southpaws plant on the right foot for power more often than vice versa). Honestly, this fight could go to decision, reason being, they would both fling their own best shots into the others, and we might not see a great shot land. Could honestly be the two landing most of their best leather in the form of cuffing shots and not getting appropriate distance for the real thunder.
Trinidad would be easier to hit for Mclellan than Mclellan for Tito. Plus Tito's power was really not that devastating at middleweight as it was at welterweight. I cant see how Trinidad would have any chance to beat a guy like Mclellan who was a natural harder punching middle. I would think Trinidad would get knocked out by midfight or sooner.
Tito does a lot better than people are saying but I cant see him making it to the 6th. Benn and Jackson used fairly basic defensive moves to make G-Man miss big..though Tito has got a porous defence himself with predictable patterns about him..McClellan was hardly any thinking mans fighter. I also cant help but think that if Tito got knocked down and hurt early...which I have no doubt would happen...he would absolutely punish G-Man's ballsack until he got a reprieve. This is why I see it being a bit of more of a prolonged battle with Trindad getting his licks in before getting laid out.
i cant see tito seeing the end of the third to be honest he was quite easy to hit and against a puncher like mcclellan he would not survive an early KD as he did in other fights
Tito wasnt completely devoid of defense..generally he was pretty cautious early but instead of settling into the fight sometimes he would get to overanxious and walk into a counter. I think he wouldnt want to get to fresh with G-Man...He probably wouldnt open up to much until about the 3rd or so. I dont think G-Man finds him as easy as you ou think Mr Butt...but he gets to him eventually and by eventually I mean relatively soon.
i am just thinking that mcclellan feels far superior in the power and size/strenth departments and makes trinidad engage in a fight very early and blows him away
