To Chavez JR. Fans.

I'm seriously curious as to why you support him.
As a boxing fan, i just cannot understand how anybody can take him seriously.

· Has skipped drug tests in the past, aswell as been caught with banned substances.
· Doesn't take the sport seriously as he trains on and off and refuses to follow instructions from roach and his father.

· He has zero defensive skills, and doesn't learn from his opponents as he simply absorbs THE SAME combinations again and again, like in the martinez fight.
· After nearly a decade as a pro, he still doesn't know how to box. so, he resorts to smothering his oppponents on the inside.

· He fights in a division where he can take advantage of his 20+ weight advantage. (like a high school senior picking on some middle schoolers.)
· He never faced any p4p fighters until martinez, and when he did, he got schooled.

I've heard fans say they like him because he has a great chin and heart. Though, i'd like to see that chin tested against somebody atleast in the supermiddle division.
It's also easy to have heart and finish most fight, when you're not getting hurt by your opponent because you outweigh him so badly.

DO YOU SIMPLY SUPPORT HIM BECAUSE HE'S MEXICAN??? or am i missing something here?

And maybe that's why some people like him. He brings some form of excitement to a boxing event. Whether it's his name, hype, or whatever.

 

No. you are not missing anything, thats the reason, nationality and his daddy

 

he has an exciting style of boxing that has ptential for some great fights.

He also has a good attitude. He doesn't need to box, but he genuinely wants to create a boxing legacy.

 

Exciting? I don't find two dudes rubbing heads and smothering each other for 12 rounds exciting.

his fights vs zbik and rubio, who fought let him fight style were complete snorefests.

 

It all comes down to a matter of opinion, my friend.

I can understand why people like his fightstyle... it's like Rocky without the "Adriaaaaaaan, I did it!!" at the end.

But him being heavily favored by the WBC, his attitude and his shady drug past (and present) don't make him a favorite of mine.

 

True. And then there are those that prefer Ward's snoozefest style.

 

as long as there not holding, then i enjoy it personally.

 

I actually enjoy both Ward and Jr's styles.
