I think you will find that the funding that they receive is actually tax free so its not a bad wage at all considering other perks and sponsorship they can do quite well but as mentioned its cutthroat. You can lose that funding very quickly.
thought you said 25/30k pa on your last post? if thats anywhere near true thats very good money, and to box! i would love it if i was good enough to earn a good wage competing in the sport i love
:good Is right Frankie, I know you and Tom are good mates and still Spar every now and then. You both had a healthy rivalry when num 1 & num 2 at 60kgs. do you know what, i was thinking of quigg when i started reading this thread and wondered what he would be like as a pro now if he had done,say,100 amateur contests. his style is very "pro" and paradoxically i think it may have hindered him more as a pro had he had more amateur experience under his belt.it would have been a more difficult transition for him
