I'd turn pro at 18. Amateur boxing is shite, and teaches you all manner of bad habits. It bears absolutely no relevance to success in the pro game anymore. Might get you a contract earning ten times what your contemporaries are on though.
I’d disagree.... but I would still turn pro earliest possible. Holyfield said it was one of the hardest things he ever done.
