can james toney compete at ufc, i dont no much about ufc but id love to see him ko randy coture, what are the chances???
I don't know much about UFC and all that, but it seems obvious that Toney does well when it does not get to the ground, but when he is taken down then Couture takes over. Seems rather simple. The key is for Toney to stay standing. Is that possible? Not for long probably. he better land a punch before that happens.
The chances are great for Toney, if Toney manages to keep Coture on his feet. If Toney gets taken down, its all over.
Lets see.... Toney is fat, old, slow, shot, and is having his first mma fight being a main event attraction vs UFC. This isnt Boxing vs MMA, this is an old fat shot man being fed to an old UFC legend. Dont expect Toney to be competetive
His chances on his feet are being overrated i feel, has anyone seen him lately? His punches are slow and sloppy.... pretty sad.
It was inevitable that a boxer would step into an MMA ring. I just hate that it had to be Toney - at least this version of him, that ended up fighting in the UFC.
Boxing is effective in MMA just watch Sonnen vs Silva.Sonnen dropped Silva with a left straight.THat's basic BOXING.Cotoure is an expert wrestler plain a simple, his strength is the mount and hump.So if it goes to ground it's over. Toney has a good chin. I see choke ending it after TONEY get's humped then he'll get submitted.
well I do not know UFC like I know boxing. I do think boxing is more refined and the fighters more skilled and sharp, but a boxer is not used to be on the ground and pounded or however the UFC guys say it. I know Toney's people are saying he is good, but good vs. a guy of Couture's status might not be good enough.
People make this sound like it's a coin flip or something. Whether the fight goes to the ground will be determined by how good Couture is at takedowns vs how good Toney is at stopping them. Toney's total chance then is is chances on the feet times his likelihood of being able to keep it there. This product is very small. Also, it's not like the standing part of mma fights is just like boxing; with kicks and takedowns involved the stance and balance is very different.
