A lot of the love for Bellew is because he's on here. If he wasn't on here? Well he'd still be regarded as a very good prospect and there would be some talk because he just is. But the real reason for the bandwagon and enthusiasm is for being here, and rightly so. It would be great to see one of our own on to world honours.

i could come on here an point out all the charity work that james degale does to make people like him but whats the point.

the opinions in this forum on degales performances should be based on his performances not his personality and im pretty sure Tony wants it to be the same for him.

I thought Tony Bellew did what he had to do tonight and did it well, when he got his opponent going, he finished him pretty good, didnt let him off the hook.

IMO the reason I reckon Frank Warren is waiting for one of them to get a World title is because a World title fight is more appealing to a casual fan and Boxing cant just rely on the hardcore fans.

On a performance level I honestly thought he was pretty good tonight on first viewing, I'll have to watch it again. He had a little look at Moore to see what he was bringing, but I thought he picked off virtually everything with his shoulder roll and then proceeded to pick the punches well. And he finished well...he's a good finisher. Stoppage was early.

But yes, no point in denying the opponent was poor.

Can't really over analyze one round which was one sided :huh

Bellew looked good, as said his defence was quality. But we musn't get carried away, it was only an Afrobum.

DeGale got slated for his debut and his fight against King. Other than that it has been nothing other than rave reviews, with the odd person saying they don't see him going far.

To be fair Degale got only praise in his last fight except his slight lapse in the fight were he got caught a good few punches. If his performance is good he does get praise same reason BJS has no talk about him no performances worth mentioning seems he has just dropped off ESB all together.

Rob, you are making a far from fair comparison...judge the standard of Bellews opponents when he has faced number 21 like Brook...in his 13th fight Kell took on the mighty Mansfield Masher Dave Kirk who had a stunning 11-58 record
