Injury played a huge part though. Haye can't complain though, should of boxed properly from the off.

 

Haye paid the price for his inactivity, he's had one live opponent in the five years (Chisora).

 

I give him all the credit in the world.
I thought he would be blasted out inside 3 minutes.
All this fight showed though injury or no injury is that Haye is finished.

So happy for bellew. He works hard, trains like a machine when in camp.

Is he the most talented. No way but he is genuine and one of the hardest working fighters in the business.

 

He needed to go in hard early because of the injury. It was wild and crazy but he knew what was going to happen. Lots of respect for even fighting. He showed he has much more talent and power until he had that injury explode on him.

But Bellew couldn't put him away until super late in the fight which was really poor from him.

 

Haye was getting into his rhythm then the injury came let's not pretend otherwise

No wonder bellew stopped posting on here

 

I saw Bellew after the Stevenson fight and I thought that he looked so ill he should have never fought at light heavyweight yet despite this he was still British and Commonwealth champion and WBC world title challenger at that weight.

His move to cruiserweight saw his punch resistance improve out of sight whilst carrying knockout power for 12 rounds. His knock out of Makabu was brutal and worthy of winning the world title.

I think Bellew has massively underrated defensive skills and under rated punch resistance (since his move to CW) because people still associate him with his time at light heavyweight.

Tonight proved beyond doubt that Bellew is a Bonafied world class operator showing excellent defensive skills during the first half of the fight and good punch resistance despite obviously being fortunate that Haye picked up his injury.

Despite all of the above I still think is best suited to cruiserweight and I would like to see him unify the titles there but if he's only going to fight one of two more times then why not go for a Wilder or Parker before retiring?

One thing is for sure that when he does retire only then will people look back and accept that his resume is pretty damn good.

 

That's how I saw it

Haye stArted terribely falling over himself and getting countered. By rd 3 he settled and gre in confidence.

This continued until the injury . Up until that point I had haye 3 up and gaining momentum

After the injury it was over the test is unimportant

What we did learn though is Hayes got nothing to offer the top boys at HW anymore. And Bellew is better than we all expected

 

The fact he is now financially secure for life for his family was the greatest reward

I see Bellow having a couple more big money fights then retiring
