Jeez!!! Even the thought of it, it'd be like George Collins going to the Kronk in the early 80s.

He was a "pretty boy" and ticket seller in the mid 80s. Though VERY carefull matchmaking by Frank Warren he muddled his way to something like a 35-0 (30) record. Then the moment of truth arrived and he was matched against Gary Jabobs and then Kirkland Laing, lost both fights and promptly retired.

(The Laing KO was a corker!!)

Why did he go to the Kronk?

I'd hardly image it would be the best place for a welterweight to go around that time

Unless you've got a death wish :deal

Retired at 23 years old with a 35-2 record. I think its fair to say Laing knocked the fight out of him!!

He was on TV all the time being given the prospect treatment. He had a younger brother, Tony, who's career followed a very similar path to Georges.
