why is Franklin Lawrence rated so highly? look at his record for chrissake. he's also 37 years old and is way under the radar.
Neither of his losses were "real" losses. He had a run of good wins a while back and has been sporadically active since. If he doesn't take a decent fight soon he should be off the list, but I'll give it a few months.
None of that matters. Only 1 guy stands alone: Wladimir Klitschko Vitali is heading for retirement. None of the rest matters. Top 25 is far to wide. Make it a top 10.
It's nice to have ranking so we know which opponents are suitable challengers. For example I didn't rate Wach Top 25 before his fight with Wlad but he demonstrated enough cheen to prove he was better than i thought. But Wach would still get destroyed by a fast lighter heavy like Haye or Chambers. Either way Wlad should try to fight guys who are legit Top 10, and barring that, legit Top 15. He shouldn't have to fish lower than that! So if the next opponent is Povetkin or Boystov, then the first suggestion is worthy, while the latter is unproven, but acceptable if nobody better can be found.
