Tony Bellew has spoken of his “heartbreak” at being away from his children while he prepares for his rematch with Nathan Cleverly.

The 31-year-old Liverpudlian moved his training camp to Yorkshire ahead of the highly-anticipated cruiserweight clash with the Welshman on November 22, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Question is would this really help a fighter or would it be a distraction, what is everyone else's opinion on this one, would this not mess with your head not seeing your kids for 8-10 weeks.

I personally think it is a good idea, I know when I have needed to do something serious in work I need to be away from all distractions, although I never have done as long 8-10 weeks

suppose each persons different, if bellews kids are screaming annoying babies (a genetic probability) then it will affect his sleeping pattern etc, which won't be good for him.

it could work the other way where he's thinking about his kids, rather than the job in hand too. Sheffields around 90minutes from Liverpool, so he can still see his kids when he wants i'm sure on days off, or get his Mrs to drive the kids to Sheffield a few times a week. Think the abroad fights / training camps will be a lot worse.

back in day it would have been quite bad, with facetime Skype etc I don't think its as much of an issue now but really depends on the individual.

^ As above, he'll still have contact on the likes of Skype.

Sheffield is hardly miles away either, it's not a crazy drive up to Liverpool on his days off.

The less distractions the better quality of work takes place.

Sure he still has family contact.

Ahead of any fight focus on the job ahead is paramount.Lots of wives, partners prefer the fighter to be away from home anyway as training gets more intense so does the need for quality rest.
