Man, I don't want to see that one - Tito's body is all disproporcionated to the long-lean-muscled, bigger and heavier hitter Pavlik. His arms are extremelly thin and his body is not athletic anymore, and he is wide open to take left jabs and big right hands... He just can keep the action going by throwing that left hook repeatedly and going to the body... Once Pavlik gets him trapped, it's Hasta la Vista baby for Tito.
I would love to see this first of all. 2ndly, I totally disagree with you guys. tito doesnt do good against boxers, like rjj, dlh, winky, etc. He does great against brawlers... so I would pick him by KO. especially b/c pavlikd oesnt have a good chin, if taylor could nearly have him out, just imagine tito. only way pavlik can win is if he uses his jab and height and reach and boxes.
Roy was there for him, on the ropes all day, he took Tito shots (mostly to the body) and just smiled and retured fire. tito's power wasnt there, he was connecting on Roy and its like Roy didnt even feel it, wierd.
This will be a big money fight for Pavlik as well as Tito, if it happens. I would expect Pavlik to TKO or KO Tito. I picked Hopkins to stop Tito. It's a shame that Roid Jones did not have the testerone to face Hopkins in a rematch, but he knew better.
Pavlik's jab will give Tito all kinds of trouble. Pavlik by mid to late TKO is the most likely result.

people, people, this feels like Bhop vs pavlik all over again. everybody riding paviliks dick andnot giving the other guy a chance. let's take a look at the strength and weaknesses. both guys never fade in fights. they both cant fight going backwards and have to set up to throw punches. trinidad has more head movement and is not as easy to hit as pavilik. pavilik has reach and height advantage both have trouble with movement. one love to throw the right and the other love to throw the left hook (fire works.) kelly just added a left hook to his arsenal. both have fought at 170 and tito looked better. if tito shows up i see a good fight and i must say i am leaning toward tito just because kelly is always open for the left hook and he telegraphs his punches to much.
Straight punches with pop are more effective than hooks at a distance. Trinidad gets stopped early. Prime he gets stopped late
If we're talking about the best version of Tito at 160, we're talking about a fire fight. One where Pavlik does what he always does to small, hard hitting middleweights who need to come forward. If we're talking about the present, we're not talking about a fight. We're talking about a brutal execution that I would not watch for free, let alone pay for.
I think he meant present day tito, hell I would say Pavlik beats him even if tito was in his prime, tito over 154 never looked like himself, Pavlik KO tito in his prime!
you mean now or when Tito fought Joppy? Pavlik's style goes well with Tito, but if Tito's left hook could land Pavlik would be knocked out also and Tito would finish him off. Problem is that Pavlik's right hand is very straight so for Tito to land his left hook, he would have to avoid some good right hands to get that chance. This fight would be bombs away.
