It amazes me that people think this fight was extremely close or worse, that Trout was robbed. Trout did nothing but throw pawed ranged finder jabs the whole night, if Canelo landed one good shot, it erased everything Trout had done up to that point. I don't remember Trout landing a single good, strong punch.
at the time of the kd, trout was ahead...after the kd, trout started to fall behind but came back in the later rounds as canelo faded down the stretch. close fight, but if not for the kd, trout wins....even with the kd it's very questionable. i agree trout's punches seemed to lack power, but he landed often enough to make up for canelo's infrequent powershots ...and at times in the later rounds, especially canelo spent a lotta time simply in retreat seemingly from fatigue. this is the fight that convinced many people that canelo was really nothing special....and it's why i pick cotto to beat him.

Uhhhh didn't Trout beat the **** out of Cotto? Canelo a boxer puncher outboxed Trout a outside fighter. He won a competitive fight. People were saying how Lara was gonna school Canelo but yet the fight was really close. He fought the three best boxers of the 154 division but haters still saying he is ducking Charló and Andrarde, tell me who those guys beat?
andrade is a titleholder and charlo is a top contenders which means they had to beat somebody to get there. the real question is: why canelo doesn't fight them instead of kirkland who everybody knows he can beat? i think charlo would KTFO canelo. andrade could also knock canelo out...lara beat canelo by a big margin...and a lotta people also felt trout won the canelo fight. don't even talk about fmj.
canelo will not fight any of these guys: - lara rematcn - trout rematch - andrade - charlo. this is because he knows they are young, hungry, strong, fast, quick guys with terrific punches and skills and they will all beat him. instead he will fight these guys: - cotto - clottey - kirkland old, inactive guys he knows he can beat. canelo is young, but not that young anymore...he should be fighting the best. not retreads and fringe guys.
Highly competitive fight . Trout pitty pat jabs didn't cut it for me . Canelo harder punches including the knockdown won him the fight on my scorecard .
Jesus...I love how Oscar has all you guys tricked. Canelo lost to Trout....And without a shadow of a doubt lost to Lara...It's funny how if Canelo was promoted by somebody else how people wouldn't even consider the Lara fight close. The only reason people think Canelo won these fights is because Oscar has you guys convinced that Canelo is some 1 punch KO artist. Canelo is a very solid fighter, top 5 at 154....but definitely not #1 at 154
I picked Lara to win the Canelo fight but he gave that fight away. Wasn't active enough I thought the fact that he lost was well deserved The trout fight was a clear Canelo win.
