How would Martinez perform if he fought someone with the skills of Trout?

Both fighters are fast but Martinez's skills in big fights is better than Trout's.

    From another thread:

Assuming Martinez's age and wear on the knees doesn't catch up to him.

that's a big assumption and Trout will only get better. Thus I voted for him. I would favor Sexy from Williams 2 to beat him though.

Martinez stylistically, Trout would be in trouble, I would even think a KO ain't out of question there were times when Cotto had him looking hurt, imagine sergio, damn.

Yeah, it is, but they're things we can't really predict or gauge until he's already in the ring.

Right now I like Martinez, espicialy if it takes place at 160. However he relies on his athleticism a lot. I think his time as a top pound for pound boxer is numbered. I think one or two more great fights in him at 160. At 154 I like Trout. No matter what Martinez might say, he's likely to have problems as 37 year old coming down in weight. This is why I think including Martinez & Alvarez. Trout would be the hardest fight at 154 for Mayweather.

cotto was able to take all of trout's punches and was competitive in parts of their fight.. i think martinez is bigger, faster and stronger than cotto so he will win this fight

Martinez takes the very average Trout apart.

Trout is simply a big fighter for his weight divison with above average skills than other boxers, but he cant punch and looks sloppy and uncoordinated. I think Sexio Martinez would win.

Trout is good, but I think his defense is overrated. He was getting clocked and rocked by the slowest and worst version of Cotto I've ever seen and Cotto was still pretty much in the fight, some making it sound like he was dominated, which was bs. Sergio simply outclasses and puts Trout on the defensive once Trout feels Sexy's power. Sergio then forces him to go toe to toe and Trout puts down a valiant effort, but gets ko'd brutally. Sergio puts in alot of bodywork to soften Trout up before pummeling him upstairs with combos and finally stopping Trout. Canelo or Kirkland would of destroyed Cotto that night.

Yeah, i also think that his win agains cotto means nothing. Miguel was too small and had no energy after the 5 round...
