This fight is going to happen and should be a war. Cameron is a tough, rugged dude. We know Tua is tough. The question here is what does Tua have left? Friday Ahunanya beat Cameron but it was a bloody war and Cameron controlled the early going. The problem he'll have is lack of mobility. I haven't seen Tua in ages (has anyone?) but if he still has anything on that left hook, he has a good chance here. My gut tells me Cameron may win this, but not enough info on Tua '09 to be certain. Should be fun. Thoughts?
Last time Tua had a two-year layoff he came in at his second highest career weight and took ten rounds to put Talmadge Griffis away. :think Anyone know what kind of shape he's in?
I think Tua, unfortunately, through whatever reason, has dragged his feet through most of his career, especially when it counted most. I mean, how many tune up fights has he had against sub par opponents? Seems like he's been tuning up since fighting Rahman in 2003. I don't know. I wish good things for him, but he's not getting any younger.
Tua will take a tune-up in March/April before facing Cameron on June 6th. He's about 260-270 now. NZ pundits are giving Cameron little chance of victory, as he tends to get rocked with punches, and his defense isn't good. Still, Cameron is in great shape, and comes to fight. Both guys get $NZ half a mil.
