...hey it worked for Shannon Briggs. He got his shot beating nothing but no-hopers and over-the-hill shot names. Why shouldn't Tua just follow the same path... Of course, you I think that's a bull**** path, but I can't blame him, because just like Briggs, Tua knows he's no-****ing good anymore, and hopes to cash in on a lucky punch and get one "good" payday.
Tua just needs to stay active and build his confidence up in the process, besides this guys chin is probably not much worse than Wlads.
The only plus I can see is that it keeps him in the gym between fights. Not a bad thing when talking about Tua..... I agree about the fans and the ringsmarts part tho. Tua has always seemed a big confidence fighter, so maybe it won't do any harm for him to get some faith back in his power?
He did look more like a fighting man should look in taking out way past it non contender Montana, than he's looked in his last few starts. But who can judge by that what his stamina level would be? He would need stamina at best with Wlad while waiting for his lucky punch.... for sure.
If you remember when he fought Bryd he seemed to kinda give up in a way, like he knew he had no chance to catch him. I remember Bryd playing with him that whole fight, especially when he spun him around making Tua look pretty dumb.
Forgive me if I missed the last 5 or 6 years but how to you go from fighting for the undisputed belt to fighting bums with only a loss to Chris Byrd after Lewis? Why was he ever on the comeback?
He had to take time out because he got royally, and totally, ****ed over by his management team of Kevin Barry and Martin Pugh. there was quite a lot of legal action involved - I'm not sure what, or if, there has been resolution yet.
It's just something I've never understood. A solid heavy with a good chin who can bang should be money no matter what. I figured he had health problems or something.
Yea he got ****ed over good and true by those two! His present promoter though looks like he's already booked his spot on boothill and mightn't see the next fight! :yep
Oh yeah, I saw Kushner after one of Tua's fights, and no ****, Bernie from Weekend at Bernies looked healthier!!!!
Yeah, Povetkin stopped him in the fourth round after he didn't respond to a bunch of punches and was wobbling all over the ring. Cerrone Fox is basically a blown up cruiserweight who keeps blowing up every fight to the point where he now weighs 30 pounds more than he did for the Povetkin match. He does a horrible HW impression of Naz / Roy Jones when he fights and has zero technical skill. I don't think his chin is glass but it definitely isn't very good. I would be very surprised if he lasts 2 rounds with Tua because his style is horrible for this matchup. He is aggressive, always falls out of position when he punches, and has almost no defense. Anything except Tua TKO1 or TKO2 would be an amazing accomplishment for him. I'm hoping this is being taped somewhere because the guy makes funny faces when he fights and jokes around a lot. It would be great to see him get KTFO after playing around with Tua.
And Tua finishes it with a couple of punches, is this meant to be improving Tua for the big game? Won't do a ****ing thing for him when he gets in with Wlad. He won't see out of his eyes after 5 rounds and will be taking wilder shots than he did with Lennox. :bart
Shamrock, The main point here is Tua is fighting again 3 weeks after his last fight which means he's back in the gym training!! This fight isnt designed to help him improve his ringsmarts etc it was an opportunity given to Team Tua after his KO1 win over Montana and Meis pulling out so why not take another easy win and an opportunity to get back into some serious training whilst looking a little further down the track to a more serious fight in October would you rather him not fight at all between now and a possible October fight or Fight Cerrone Fox and keep him in the gym and focused! you never answered my question Tua VS Couser in October?
