1) Wouldn't a heavy jab render the cross guard less effective? 2) Wouldn't a tall opponent render the Philly Shell less effective?
Floyd got clocked flush in nearly all his fight with straight right because the philly shell leaves you open to that shot.
yes and yes, there are small adjustments that can be made to deal with this (like head movement) but these guards themselves are less effective in these instances
