Was speaking to a friend of mine today, who was at a property auction at the Etihad in manchester, and tyson fury was there, my mate got a picture with him and got chatting to him, congratulated him on winning etc etc then wished him well for the klit rematch when tyson stunned him with his reply. There isn't going to be a rematch, my mate couldnt believe it, and neither could i when he told me, my first thoughts were that klit would pull out, but when he said to tyson i thought there was a rematch clause, he said yes there was but there cant be a rematch if i am retired. I am 25 yrs old, unbeaten and heavyweight champion of the world and multi millionaire, why do i want to fxxx about going back to germany to fight when i dont need to. The story is genuine, i just hope it was Tyson being his unpredictable self and it is just that, as i want to see the rematch and other fights of his.
If true you should sell this story to the press and get a few quid for it. Sorry to be a doubting Thomas but I don't buy it.
The story is true, as my friend would not lie. I doubt he will retire either, or should i say hope he doesn't. Regarding going to the press and selling a story, no mate the thought would never cross my mind. Just telling it as i was told.
You always have to take what Fury says off the cuff with a pinch of salt. This guy is bipolar and just says what comes to mind on the given day. On camera he will abuse fighters but off it he has a lot of respect and admiration for them. For example when he calls Wilder nothing but a basketball player, you don't really think Tyson believes that? He just says things for effect, he knows wilder is dangerous and he may not even get past wladmir in the rematch. Fury can make lets say £10 million from fighting Wlad in a re-match. He is going to do it. That is his retirement fund. He has not had many fights on good money, and he needs the money. He sure knows how to wind people up thats for sure!
