I’m not sure if this has already been done but I’d love to know what you guys think would happen if a prime Tyson (w/ cus d’amato) and the tua that obliterated Ruiz got it on? Both short and explosive, could they stand up to each other’s power for 12?
Prime Tyson destroys Tua. There are no HW to match prime Tyson. Maybe Lewis,Klitchko because their height. But that's it. Tyson destroys everything in front of him.
Tyson, faster, more compact, better 2 fisted attack. Tyson's defensive skills though would be the decider. He was actually a pretty good counter puncher in his prime. He'd use that head movement to slip shots while standing in front of opponents then rip in counter shots as his opponent opened up. He could slip and roll under Tua's hooks and rip in counters or use his speed to just step inside the wider Tua hooks and beat Tua to the punch.
doug miller over at "the ring" just discussed this in his "friday grab bag" letters. he has tua y late stoppage due to his tremendous chin. i honestly don't know, but i feel tyson by u.d. people forget here tyson was taken the distance early in his career by mitch green, james tillis, james smith, and later by toney tucker and razor ruddock. none of them had the power of tua. it would have been an AWESOME slug fest had it happened!
