My point was Tunney looked disappointing from the point of view of cleverness, skills, ring generalship in too many fights, at different stages of his career, way too many times compared to fighters at other weights who were really clever and skilful, who had off nights too, but not *that* often.

Hi Janitor. I think the point he's making is that Tunney is not the heavyweight version of Willie Pep that so many here try and make him out to be. He was VERY hittable throughout his career. This would spell his doom against Tyson, imo. People also overestimate his chin. While it was no doubt sturdy, it also must be remembered that his chin was never tested against any huge punchers with the exception of a past prime Dempsey, who hurt, floored and almost stretched him regardless.
