I honestly believe the game has evolved so much that Mike wouldn't be able to cut it against today's elite.

Especially against a guy who has ~11 inches of height and ~14 inches of reach on him.

    Tyson Fury

The size and height differential, combined with Furys skill and elusiveness means he is all wrong for Iron Mike.

This will be the unstoppable prime Mike Tyson who a year earlier went 12 rounds with the mighty Tony Tucker.

According to some people here, prime Iron Mike blows everyone away apart from Ali. Oh and Tony Tucker.

Furys never felt a puncher that throws hurt after hurt...actually all Tysons punches hurt. A 20 year old Tyson moves like no one does now but yet, punches probably harder than anyone now. It'll be a good fight but Fury will be trying to survive before getting caught IMO.

It's funny, I always think these kinds of threads are joke threads. But then the responses! There are actually people who think guys like Fury, David Haye and Wilder would not be obliterated by prime Mike Tyson.

    It just amazes me.

Prime Tony tucker would beat tyson fury. And I like fury. Since when is winning a decision a crime? I don't know if mike tyson could reach fury's chin with enough leverage to KO him. Might KO him to the body or hit him hard enough in the body that fury became stationary and hittable to the head

Funny how people think that to question their nostalgia hero's equals a joke thread.

Iron Mike's about the earliest guy I can legitimately see having a good chance against anyone. So powerful and fast, as tiny as he was. Still, he never fought anyone remotely like Fury, he struggled against the tallest, fastest fighters he did face, so Fury would be the favorite among non nostalgiaists.

In a battle between Tyson vs Tyson I'm going to have to go with Tyson. Tyson's resume is superior to Tyson's but Tyson also suffers from mental problems. On one hand, Tyson has the better chin and punching power but Tyson also has better lateral movement and ring generalship. I think history will look favourably upon Tyson but Tyson will always come out on top h2h. Tyson takes this in my opinion.

edit to clarify: When I say Tyson I mean that Tyson, not the other Tyson.

Fury would have trouble with Mike's speed, but at
the same time, Mike would have significant issues
with Fury's height. (Has Mike even fought anyone that tall?)
Even tall guys that were shorter, he had issues ko'ing.

This would probably turn into one of the ugliest HW title
fights ever. If this was Iron Mike pre Douglas, I'd say
he wins a very ugly decision. Mike post-prison I'd
    actually say Fury.
