Just finished it, WOW, great book ! Fair play to the guy, he let it all out in those pages. Makes me wonder exactly how much more he could of achieved if he had avoided all the temptations. For those who haven't read it yet, highly recommended.
Halfway through it right now and I agree. Ive always felt that Tyson had too much success too young. He was like a child star that implodes. Lindsey Lohan or someone like that (only with talent. Lots and lots of talent). Then again, the way Cus shaped him... well, you almost need a child, a blank slate, to do that kind of brain washing and molding into that kind of fighting machinery. Its pretty fascinating.
I have to admit, having read it, Tyson has moved up in my rankings H2H. Very few would have beaten the guy when he was fully focussed
Can you believe that? Jesus. I loved the book; it's hands-down one of the best boxing books I've read. But where he used to abuse Don King physically was not cool for me. King is a scumbag and all, but he was an old man. But I must say, that if even only half of what he did to Frank W a r r e n* is true, then I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall that day. *The name gets edited out for some reason.
Is this the same one by Peter Heller? or is it a different one? The one by Peter Heller is good, especially the chapters around 1988-89, Tysons craziest period

I finished it a few days ago. I give him a lot of credit for being as honest as he was. The amount of dysfunction in the book is really unsettling. I now understand what his ravings meant in all those crazy interviews.
Im halfway through it and so far, so good. Mike is a crazy guy but I always feel hes a little misunderstood. I think hes got a good heart but has just made heaps of really dumb decisions. He certainly could have been so much better had he stayed focused. Great read.
I'm thinking of buying it I've always been fascinated by both Mike Tyson's career and life. I'm curious those he talk in depth about his training and fights, I was hoping he'd talk much more about this in the undisputed truth show on HBO. I'd suspect he'd touch a lot more on this in his book.
