No. It was against "The Jinx" Spinks.

    Against his own demons.

I think Mike spent most of his life on an emotional roller coaster and he's lucky to have conquered it finally and seems to be happy and settled for the first time in his life.

    Not the same analogy.

Holmes went on to defeat Mercer, and be competitive with holyfield and other solid contenders.

Ali was basically finished after the third Frazier fight. He didn't do much afterwards. He only had one more fight after getting wiped out by Holmes. And he was certainly shot against Holmes.

Spinks such an underrated win it was for all the titals against an two weight champ who was undefeted and Mike blew him away. The Holmes,Tucker and Ruddick win are up there to all good names and good wins.

Tyson demolished a Holmes that went on YEARS later to whup gold medalist, Ray Mercer in his PRIME, (an old as hell one is Wlad's BEST WIN).

Remember when Vitali in his PRIME went up against his 39 year old veteran fighter, he whupped...

    Oh ****...

He almost got his eyeball ripped out and at the end of the fight was hangin on like a homosexual.

At least he beat Sam Peter to make up for it.

Good point, imagine if Larry had ripped Tyson's face off...Imagine what the haters would say about his competition if he couldn't even hang with the aging previous competition...

I've read alot of the competition for the klits being superior to Tyson's, even though the better brother couldn't even hang with the oldest of the previous competition...l

Larry was big, Tucker was big, Spinks was big, Ruddock was big, etc...But it wasn't just the "Win", it was the way he did it...He brutalized those guys...
