No need at all for Mir to be that heavy. CC spot on as always. Surprised to see Hunt at 265. I thought he was lighter than that from the footage of him. Although he did look very slim and in great shape. Cant believe he's been stuck on a prelim.

Glad to see Hunt and McCorkle managed to come in at under 265lbs. Both are very heavy guys and it shows they are taking this fight seriously. Totally agree it should have been one of the televised prelims.

    me too.

Seriously hope that Hunt puts on a good fight. Hopefully Dana'll be impressed enough to put him on the main card next time.

Don't see why Mir is so high again. No matter how big he is Brock and Carwin will man handle him almost every time.

He thinks he needs to be big to compete with the larger heavys. Not made a blind bit of difference yet. He got ragdolled by Brock twice and even worse the second time and Carwin did exactly the same. As far as im concerned he should be concentrating on his BJJ and needs to be 240 or under.

If I remember correctly Hunt was as high as 290 for some of his recent matches in Japan, 265 is the best shape he's been in since he fought Fedor.

Of course. But PRIDE never had a ceiling limit on its heavy division. The UFC does hence why he HAD to make 265. The footage i saw of him showed him in excellent shape at Team Couture i think. Although i didnt think he was that heavy.

Definitely bulking up won't help him one bit against Brock or Carwin just because you are the same size won't mean they can't throw him around. He needs to work on BJJ off his back, he was doing nothing against brock not even attempting anything and Carwin didn't give him a chance to do anything. His takedown defence is also pretty bad.

Mir's guard is good but it can be ALOT better. The problem with Mir is he has Frank Bruno syndrome. When hit he just freezes and doesnt know what to do. I doubt that will ever change though as he's been doing that all his career and hardly has the chin or guard skills of say Big Nog to get away with it.

he must not like dieting. mir is not a huge guy but he's big and has weight. i think he's just not working that hard to keep the weight down and or is simply consuming too many calories... i think he should be at about 230-235

Mir's a big guy but he doesn't need size at all for this fight. I would have liked to see him at the 245 mark.

It's intriguing fight because Mir might stand with him and if he wins like that then it would be impressive. It's dangerous.

i agree. i think around 245ish is where he should aim. i didnt like it when he bulked up and had to cut to get to 265.

Can't wait to see Mir knocked the **** out again.

Mir is a legend, a legend of getting his ass beat all the time.

Yeah, but as you said he had to cut to get to 265 last time which means he at least weighed a few pounds over 265 (probably closer to 275). That said, he is at the very least 13 lbs lighter if he was cutting no weight at all to make 265 (unlikely) so that shows real progress.
