Underrated Workrates

I was amazed when the punchstats from Alex Stewart/Holyfield I showed that Stewart threw almost 90 punches a round at times.

So what other fighters are capable of surprising like that?

 

Dokes against Holyfield.

 

How many punches was he throwing a round there?

 

Jeff Fenech?

 

Fenech's a very good pick. He looked like a little Duran at times in there.

 

anybody know what was average joe frazier's punch output? and in ali fights?

 

Tua-Ibeabuchi for a punchstat record BUT workrate isn't just punches thrown its movement and these 2 didn't move a whole lot

 

Ricky Hatton in recent times, he don't half skip about that ring. If you look at the Mayweather defeat he was still jigging about up until he got knocked out. For a ****-head, he does alright.

Arce threw 117 in the second round of his fight with Alvarez.

Not too bad for a party animal.

 

Hearns in the first few rounds.

 

An underrated guy seldom mentioned that fits the bill is Zaragoza. He was always in top shape and simply didn't fade as rounds went by. And usually that was > he had absorbed punishment from the other guy and he still had that workrate in his bouts. Very difficult guy to discourage or outwork.

 

James Toney.

He often tended to take time off during rounds, but when he let his hands go, he did so in fluid combinations, and threw a pretty high number of punches for his weight class.
