Could you humor me please and give your examples on a unified weight champ and and/or lineal undisputed champ please - I remember reading a thread about this some time ago but can't find it now.

    Thanks in advance

Unified is a holder of two or more belts (out of the big 4). JMM and Wlad are current unified champions.

Undisputed these days is holder of all 4 belts, only Hopkins and Jermain Taylor have done that.

Before it was the Big 3 (WBC, IBF, WBA). Tyson and Hagler amongst others achieved this.

To be linear you don't have to be undisputed or even unified. It's about 'the man that beat the man'. e.g. Martinez beat Pavlik who beat Taylor who beat Hopkins.

To establish a new lineage the universally recognized top 2 in a weight class have to fight. Hopkins established a lineage by beating all the top contenders.

Being the undisputed WBA champion is hard enough these days.

Yeah..... it's possible to be the Interim and Regular WBA champion or to be the Super and Interim champion. There was a strange situation where the Super champion lost, what happens to the winner? There is also an Interim and Regular champion? Basically the WBA's rules didn't make sense. A Super Champion would hold another organisations belt, when they lose the new title holder may have a WBA title (Would it be Super) but there could be a regular title holder too. I'm getting confused......... :huh
