- Pac won his 1st fight with Marquez.
(I have watched that fight again and again and I just cannot understand how this widespread myth came about that Marquez 'schooled him for 11 rounds' - absolute fantasy. I scored it to Pac by 2 points if I remember correctly. I think people were just blinded by the impressive feat of getting up to rally after 3 KD's in 1 round. I think JMM was better in their 2nd fight and won by 1 point)

- Joe Calzaghe's win over Chris Eubank was not impressive in any way
(This is the most misremembered and overrated win in recent boxing history. Eubank was semi-retired. He had fought only 2 exhibiton bouts against novice pros in Africa and Asia in the 2 years before he fought Joe. He had been beaten twice by Steve Collins the last time he fought decent comp. He took the fight at short notice. This was not a particularly good win. It was merely a hard-fought win over a guy years past his prime.)

I'm not sure how unpopular this is, but I believe they should get rid of headgear in the amateurs.

Here's some unpopular thoughts:

- The pros should start wearing head gear.

- Scoring rounds should be based on: effective clinching, escaping harm, showboating, and color coordination.

- There is a one knockdown rule

- Only the referee, or the fighter's mother can stop the fight.

- In the event of a knockout, the fight should go to the cards after four completed rounds.
