Why cant Usyk defend the IBF or get a chance to rather than being stripped. Is there a cutoff date for defending the belt and too soon for him to get back in the ring to do so. He has earned and worked hard to get where he has just for it to be ripped away due to politics. Surley the mandatory fights the holder of it...just dont get it TBH
Wasn't the mandatory for IBF Hrgovic who had a fight lined up for himself already anyway? It's just politics, more champs = more sellable fights happening = more money :// This is a very corrupt sport but nobody is surprised
It seems that the belt remains in his collection, politics does not care about someone's work and effort, but when it comes to the champion, they will make an exception...
Unfortunately that's the nature of the game, if Hrgovic ever finds himself in Usyk's position he'll no doubt be able to make exceptions too. In an ideal sport, the champions would fight more than once or twice per year and mandatories would then get their shots sooner but now we have mandatories waiting years to get their mandatory shot. Sucks but it is what it is.
Why is having newbies an issue? Newbies enjoy finding out more about the sport. Every day is a school day.
The longer the HW title stays whole, the better it is for boxing. Ideally there should only be one champion per division.

In theory yes, but as I said on another thread, the champion not fighting mandatories is not good for the long-term health of boxing. For example, Jalalov was the star of the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, and people are questioning why he is not committing to the pro game. But why would the stars or the tomorrow even bother, when they see an undefeated Olympian from 2016, Hrgovic, continuously being frozen out of the picture. It's been 8 years since that Olympics, and 8 years since the 2012 mob got their first title shots. So what incentive is there for the top Olympians if they are not from US or UK to turn over? At this rate, Olympic Gold Medalist, Jalolov, might get a title shot in what...2030? aged: 35
