Sounds like this won't be happening next and there's talk of Usyk vs Takam and Povetkin vs Hunter instead. Wouldn't rule out Hunter pulling off the upset in that one. If Hunter can show a good chin it could get interesting if the fight goes into the later rounds. Usky would deal with Takam pretty comfortably I'd imagine.
Still wouldn’t grumble at a Usyk vs Takam fight. I think he’d take him apart piece by piece, exhausting him with the jab and footwork for a UD.
I think it's a good debut tbh. Not the most dangerous fight but a test and a decent win all the same. Usyk shouldn't be rushed, there's no need. He's a relatively young heavyweight, let him grow into the weight and step up slowly, getting used to taking the heavier shots. A run like Takam, Miller, Parker and then one of the top three would be a good route.
Pov knows he's older and shop worn, he loses to Usyk, so instead of 1 last payday he wants 2. Can't blame him.
Starting to look that way. Nobody in the top 6 is fighting each other right now and you can add Usyk to that as well, if we're lucky we might see Povetkin vs Usyk by the end of the year and Whye versus one of the top 3. AJ and Wilder will spend the year bashing mandatory plodders and Fury will school Parker and then probably take another 'warm up' fight before re-matching Wilder sometime next year.
