According to the interview I just read in the 'news', he plans on fighting four times before retiring. Here is his ideal list for his final bouts :
    Jorge Arce
    Rafael Marquez
    Oscar Larios
    Juan Manuel Lopez

Well, I can understand his feelings about those possible fights. He wants to make the more money, well earned of course, and against the best opposition possible in the weight class (except Arce) but a fight with Lopez at the end of his career would be too much in my opinion.

He also said he would like to fight Johnny Gonzales a second time before stepping up a fourth time with Rafael Marquez. His final goal would be the conquest of the higher classes (126 and 130) to put his name in boxing history and thus becoming the fourth mexican to win titles in 3 classes (after Chavez, Morales and Barrera of course).

Vasquez is a true champion and a true warrior.

well i don't understand why some choices like larios who he already fought for 3 times and being the winner in that trilogy, larios is shot also at this point.

marquez, well i think the book has already been closed no need for a 4rth one..

arce is too small but it would be a big fight between 2 big names in the smaller division

juanma is the only choice he made worth mentioning but juanma is still green and young, it would be better if he made a few more defenses.

i would prefer something like this for vasquez in his 4 final fights:

    jhonny gonzales at 122
    juanma 122
    guerrero 126
    arce 120

Larios was diagnosed with a minor subdural hematoma. He's lost his license in the US. Putting him in with Vasquez would be manslaughter if not homicide. Personally, I'd like to see Vasquez/Lopez. That's a good nom.

he should fight Marquez again then unify with Caballero, defend the title against JM Lopez and fight one of the champions at 126.
but he has to wins all those fights if he loses to Marquez then we would probably see a 5th fight between them.

Gotta love Vasquez. No point in the Larios fight though. Arce, fun fight while it lasts, I don't mind that one. Marquez and Lopez are the big ones. A fourth fight with Marquez would be one of the most anticipated fights of 2009 I hope they do it again. Lopez and Vasquez in late 2009 would be great. Lopez isn't quite ready right now but give him another year of quality wins and let Vasquez age another year and then that becomes a very nice fight.

Juanma and Vasquez in 2009 sounds like a great fight, another PR-MEX fight.

Even right now, Juan Manuel is a very dangerous risk. Plus, we don't know how much the Marquez's bouts will affect him in the future.
But sill, I wouldn't favor anybody against Vasquez. That's for sure.

He should really just stay at SBW.

There are some big fights for him there (Marquez, Lopez, Caballero, Molitor etc.)

He could go and chase glory in a second weight division, but given his style we don't know how effective he would be against naturally bigger guys.

But hey, he's a great wee fighter and I wish him well whichever path he chooses.:good
