Is he not doing the World Series of Boxing? That would give him a good level of competition and decent paydays without having the fear of his career being written off if he loses. I wonder if the offers he got to go pro were that good? Germany would seem an obvious move, maybe under the K2 banner, but there's very little interest in the lower weight classes there. And American TV has an aversion to Eastern European fighters with difficult to pronounce names.

He signed up for the Ukrainian WSB team, but like the other Olympians he's been doing promotional work rather than fighting. He might turn pro after the WSB season finishes or he might take part in the APB system which AIBA are trying to set-up. Loma should've turned pro after Bejing, he looked better in 2008 than 2012.

he's irreleavant. he doesn't wanna face the best int he world, he'd rather be an adult beating up on kids in the ams, waste of talent. he'll be a footnote in 5 years from now.
He's only 24 and he's won two golds. He's doing a season of WSB and then turning pro in 2014. He's been in the states, trained with Garcia, Mayweather etc. and has a lot of interest from all the top promoters. Says he'll probably go with top rank or golden boy.
How do you figure that? He's fighting far better opposition in WSB than he would be if he was fighting 4 and 6 rounders in the pro game. WSB is pro rules for 5 rounds, it's probably the best preparation he could get for the proper pro game. He'd be making a **** load more if he was fighting bums in 6 round pro fights, everything he does is about progression and preparation, money isn't his motivation.
I think he was paid 6 figures to stay amateur for the 2012 olympics. I'm pretty sure there was a 6 figure deal in having him compete at WSB rather than going professional. I am also sure there were 6 figure deals for him going professional, but that would also ensue him leaving Ukraine and going professional either overseas or in Germany. He won't build a professional legacy at WSB, and thats just fact.
